Summary Savannah and Alondra

In the article by Nicholas St. Fleur, he discusses the March for Science campaign that caused a huge controversy in the science world.  Dr. Berman found a Reddit discussion that explained how the president and his administration was handling science.  He decided to have another march called "Scientists' March on Washington" because of a comment that he had seen. Dr. Berman created a twitter account for the march and it became very popular with 700,000 supporters across many social media platforms.  Soon other scientists wanted to become involved in the movement. Dr. Caroline, a public health researcher and science writer, got in touch with Dr. Berman. She was inspired by the women's march that occurred the day after Trump became president and they came up with a mission statement and diversity statement. They could hardly keep up with other requests they had received but found it was very heartwarming that there was a large amount of scientists that wanted to help.

  1. This is a very good summary girls! I am very impressed! Most students don't receive the information that a summary is supposed to be anywhere from 100 to 200 words until after they enter college and it has affected their grades. You girls already have a leg up in the game! Great job! I hope that you all enjoyed this portion of Reading the World, I can say for sure that you were missed this week, but hopefully you'll be back next week to have some fun! Have a great LONG weekend!
