highlight from career day

One highlight from career day was the background story that Lou had about going into law enforcement. After already having a career which was being a teacher.  Her story was very interesting.

She never really went out. She was always in her room. Basically she was in prison and it is exemplified by her always being at home where she was home schooled and not exposed to the outside world.

In the article by Nicholas St. Fleur, he discusses the March for Science campaign that caused a huge controversy in the science world.  Dr. Berman found a Reddit discussion that explained how the president and his administration was handling science.  He decided to have another march called "Scientists' March on Washington" because of a comment that he had seen. Dr. Berman created a twitter account for the march and it became very popular with 700,000 supporters across many social media platforms.  Soon other scientists wanted to become involved in the movement. Dr. Caroline, a public health researcher and science writer, got in touch with Dr. Berman. She was inspired by the women's march that occurred the day after Trump became president and they came up with a mission statement and diversity statement. They could hardly keep up with other requests they had received but found it was very heartwarming that there was a large amount of scientists that wanted to help.
